  16. Sorry to bother you, but I'm having trouble installing xdvik 1.4
  17. on our system (HP-UX B.08.00 A, SYSV). Our system is fairly nonstandard,
  18. and it is necessary to have xdvi search in several directories for the
  19. font files. Additionally, the system MakeTeXPK script is broken, so I
  20. had to install my own. I could not figure out how to set up the search
  21. paths and MakeTeXPK-command at compile time. In xdvi patchlevel 17
  22. you have the compiler-definitions "DEFAULT_FONTS", "DEFAULT_FONT_SIZES"
  23. and "MAKEPKCMD". I could not find anything like this in the xdvik Makefile.

  25. I could get it to work when using the shell variables XDVIFONTS,
  26. XDVISIZES and XDVIMAKEPK, but there I encountered two other problems:

  28. 1. xdvik seems to suppress the MakeTeXPK output, so you don't see what
  29. is going on while the fonts are made.
  30.  
  31. 2. After the fonts were made, xdvik did not find them immediately and
  32. I got an error message. But the next time I started xdvik, the fonts
  33. were found.
